As we are gearing up for ArtWeek, it seems that Space is a recurring theme. It is the theme of our UMBC Motion Challenge, Design Challenge and our collaborators, seb, will have an event Thursday during ArtWeek at the UMBC Telescope on top of the Physics building.
So, thinking of Space we found this great video which features a montage of clips from the greatest Sci-Fi films of all time. Check it out. It is a good one. Oh, it is set to a poem by Dylan Thomas read by Anthony Hopkins. Oh yeah.

Well, here it is, the beginning of another great semester at UMBC. As most of you know, commonvision creates weekly event posters for Student Life to be displayed around campus. We call them "Weeklies." As you can see there is a lot to do on campus.

We have so many great things planned for ArtWeek this year (March 2-6, 2015). We will have a paper plane throwing contest, golf cart painting, art shows, music performances, dance performances, water gun paintings, human jenga, screen printing demos and so much more. There will also be a Food Night. We are collaborating with seb for this event. Yesterday, some of the commonvision staff did some experimenting with possible dishes and activities. Who wouldn't want to create and eat a panda rice ball? Hope to see you at all the ArtWeek events!!
Each Wednesday we like to screen several tutorials, animations, shorts, commercials, advertisements in the office to get our creative juices flowing. Look how engaged we are.

Here's a montage of our new NBC branding package. It contains a sampling of endtags, bumpers, night openers, and other supporting elements. All of the selected footage was shot and directed by Capacity. Sometimes we like to have design challenges for our staff. It is a way for them to keep their skills sharp and to learn/refresh on some tools and processes. This weeks design challenge was to create a low poly cat using only cool colors. The "rules' can be interpreted in any way they choose. Here are this weeks results. Not too bad at all. The design below was created by Danielle Dernoga. (I only misspell her last name every other day) Danielle is not a graduate yet, but in the Spring 2015 she will be. A sad loss for commonvision. But , we do not have to worry about that for several months. Now, we celebrate the hard work of our seniors.
