Meet Becca Vest

Becca Vest is one of newest designers at commonvision. She is a junior at UMBC majoring in Graphic Design. She also dabbles in photography and is a member of UMBC’s Musical Theater Club.

Becca adores anything cute and furry and also loves food more than anything. If you leave chocolate in front of her it is at risk and, yes, she will eat it all. She has a long list of hobbies including but not limited to reading, playing video games, petting her cat, and being a total geek.

cv: What is your role at commonvision? How long have you been working there?

bv:  I am one of the designers at commonvision! I've been working there since the end of May. It's been a great 3 months!

cv: How/When did you know that you wanted to be a designer?

bv: I didn't know I wanted to be a designer until half way through my first semester here at UMBC. I had taken one design class that semester to see what it was like and realized that I wasn't in the right area of visual arts.

cv: Are there any designs or projects that you are particularly fond of having created?

bv: I did a design in my high school design program where we had to create a logo for a country of our choosing and I used a llama in my design. It was a lot of fun and I ended up really liking how it turned out.

cv: You are also a member of UMBC's Musical Theatre Club. When did you first get into acting and singing?

bv: I acted in my first play when I was in middle school and I fell in love with performing instantly. Music just fell in behind that when I started doing musicals in high school.

cv: What has been your favorite part to play? Which part would be a dream part for you to do?

bv: My favorite I've played by far was the character Abby in a high school production of Arsenic and Old Lace. Making an audience laugh is a very rewarding feeling. I have a lot of dream parts, but I'd have to say that playing Belle in Beauty in the Beast would be pretty awesome.

cv: How come you have never broke out into song in the commonvision office?

bv: I've had tempting moments before, but I've held them back. I don't want to scare anyone away from the office!

cv: What are your plans after you leave commonvision and graduate from UMBC?

bv: Hopefully after I graduate I'll be able to get into the gaming industry. Its been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember!
